Congratulations to these very proud recipients of Junior Primary Assembly Awards. Keep up the great work!
Congratulations to all students from Craigburn Primary School for your wonderful participation at today’s Sports Day. The weather was perfect, and many parents were able to get along and watch the children participate enthusiastically!
A special mention to all team members in Riley as the winners of the day.
To celebrate Dr. Suess’s birthday the children in the Early Years at Craigburn dressed up in their crazy clothes today. My goodness what a crazy bunch we were!
Room 24 looked absolutely fantastic in their clothes. Have a look at us in the photos.

Since the beginning of the year we have been spending time each week with our Buddies from Mr. Steven’s class.
We’ve been reading with them and doing some writing activities with them.
This afternoon our buddies helped us to make origami bookmarks.
We used origami paper and made lots of interesting animals and creatures.
These photos show us working co-operatively with our buddies and the fantastic bookmarks we made.
We have been working on our Stamina as we read our books to ourselves each morning. We are able to read quietly, stay in one spot and remain focussed on our books for quite a long time.
This morning we were very excited because Mrs. K spoke to us about Book Boxes. We have our own boxes and into them we need to put good fit books so that we are able to continue with our great reading.
We got to go book shopping! We put all our books on the tables and we went round and chose books to put in our boxes. It was such fun! Now when we Read To Self and Read To Someone we will have lots of books in our boxes to read.
This week we have focussed on writing our numerals round the right way.
Some of us write them back to front! If you have a spare moment it would be fantastic if you watch your child write the numbers and check the formation.
Here is a lovely You Tube clip to help the children with numeral writing. Just click on the link.
Welcome to everyone visiting our blog. We are a class of new Year Ones and our teacher is Mrs. Kolenberg. There are 25 children in our class and we only started back at school from our holidays on Tuesday. Craigburn is a school in the foothills of Adelaide. We have lots of trees and are lucky enough to have many birds and koalas visiting. This term will be 11 weeks long. It’s Summer right now and we have had some hot days above 40 degrees Celsius. We are going to learn about our body systems and keeping ourselves healthy as well as working together co-operatively.
Please visit our blog often to catch up with our learning.
Mrs. K has put together a video using Animoto about our school and our classroom.
